Easy Peasy Christmas Chocolates

I am loving this time of year and really am feeling quite jolly and what better way to treat family and friends than with some sweet and tasty treats – these chocolate treats are so easy they is no reason you can’t have a go. I am very excited to share these Easy Peasy Christmas Chocolates.

Chocolate Heart Lollipops

Ingredients

  • Candy canes
  • White Chocolate
  • Peppermint essence (optional)
  • Snowman decorations also optional

The How to Bit

    1. Melt the white Chocolate in a bowl over simmering water.
    2. If you want flavouring add to the melted chocolate this
    3. Place the the candy canes in a heat-shape on a non-stick baking tray I find if you cool the tray before you use it, the chocolate leaks less.
    4. If adding sprinkles or snowman decoration add before the chocolate sets – if you have a steadier hand than me you could write a Christmas message in icing too but only after the chocolate sets.
    5. Place in the fridge to set.

    Peppermint Treats

    Ingredients

    • Candy canes
    • White Chocololate
    • Peppermint essence

    The How to Bit

    1. Melt the white Chocolate in a bowl over simmering water.
    2. In a bowl smash up 2 or 3 candy canes with a pestle until in small peices
    3.  To make these round chocolate I used the inside of an old chocolate box, pictured below, it is handy to keep these if you planning on making sweets and you can even re-use it to pack them up later.
    4. Add some of the crushed candy cane into the mold.
    5. Add the peppermint essence to the white chocolate – only use one or two drops it is very strong. and mix well.
    6. Pour the white chocolate into the mould and put into the fridge to set.

    Hot Chocolate Spoons

    Ingredients

    • Candy canes optional – mini marshmallow could work too
    • Milk Chocolate
    • A spoon mould – I got this one for €3.00 in Heatons

When I found this mould I was so happy every year we make some form of Hot chocolatey gift for Cait’s class and these were a great idea.

Just melt the milk chocolate add a bit of crushed candy or tiny marshmallows ( saw some in Dealz) and allow to set.
Pack in cellophane with marshmallows and attach a tag with instruction and you are good to go.
Or you could set up your own Hot Chocolate Bar which was a huge hit with my daughter.
